Our proud history
Our Carbon office in Gawler launched in 2022 after local firm Symes Accountants joined forces with Carbon Group.
Symes Accountants was established in 1986 by Peter Symes and has been helping business owners and individuals in Gawler ever since. In 2001, Peter Caddy joined the firm as a Partner, and in 2005 Hans van Heuven also became a Partner.
In 2021, Peter, Hans and their team partnered with Carbon Group to launch Carbon Gawler. Together, we aim to make the lives of business owners easier by taking care of all their accounting, tax, bookkeeping, finance and lending, financial planning and insurance needs.

Peter joined Carbon in 2022 after we partnered with his accounting firm. Peter has always been a strong advocate for an ideal work/life balance and has an outside passion for cycling, wood turning and wooden toy making. On the weekends, you can find Peter spending time with his grandchildren or out in the garden tending his flowers and fruit trees and vegetable garden.

Rowena joins our accounting team with a decade of experience and a passion for helping small businesses with all their tax and accounting needs. Ryan joined Carbon after seven years at Westpac in personal banking, business banking and home finance roles. Previously, he worked for Perth’s largest property investment firms as a broker. Ryan takes an advice-based approach to mortgage broking, liaising with the respective experts to ensure his clients’ lending strategy compliments their other investments.

With a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Cert IV and Diploma of Finance and Mortgage Broking, Jacob was previously a finance broker at a large investment firm before joining the team at Carbon Finance. Nathan bought into Sterling Accountants in 2006 and then co-founded Carbon with Jamie in 2014. Nathan was the foundation to our accounting team in Perth, and leads our accountants in Osborne Park.
