About Steve Wai – Your Trusted Accountant

Steve joined Sterling Accountants in 2002 (with Nathan Hood coming on board in 2005), which later merged with Jamie Davison’s bookkeeping firm to become Carbon Group. He’s been with Carbon throughout the entire journey from launch to where we are now and has played a key role in the success and growth of our Accounting & Tax division. His contributions have earned Carbon Group prestigious industry awards, including the Australian Accounting Awards National Firm of the Year and the Australian Financial Review’s Top 100 Accounting Firms.

Driven by a desire to take charge of his career and collaborate with like-minded individuals, Steve chose to become a partner at Carbon. Initially based in our Osborne Park office, Steve now leads a team of accountants from our Ellenbrook office, alongside Michelle Maynard.

With extensive experience in public practice, he has a very intelligent eye for tax and finance, and making them both work harder for his clients. Steve specialises in SME and estate and tax planning, providing effective strategies for his clients.

Get to Know Steve

Steve was born in the Philippines but moved to Australia at the age of three, growing up south of the river in Maddington. We say growing up, but he is actually the same height now as he was in primary school: 5’5″! Steve is a family man, enjoys spending time with his kids and loves playing football.
