Gail Rogerson – A Journey of Passion and Expertise

Gail Rogerson’s career journey spans continents and industries, bringing a wealth of experience to her role as a Bookkeeping & CFO Services Partner in Brisbane. Since arriving in Australia in 1990, Gail has explored various employment opportunities, including managing multiple franchise garden centres and involvement in events. However, it was in 2004, while working at KPMG as a practice manager, that she discovered her true passion for bookkeeping.

In the following years, Gail took a bold step by leaving employment to establish her own business. Eight years later, in September 2015, her bookkeeping practice joined forces with Carbon Group. In late 2017, Gail re-joined Carbon Group under the Carbon Partner Empowerment (CPE) model.

Career Highlights

One of the highlights of Gail’s career was achieving a remarkable $1 million profit (against a budget of $600k) during her tenure as the accommodation secretariat manager for an international event. Her role included critical path analysis, objective management, policy formulation,and comprehensive financial control, showcasing her leadership and financial prowess.

Business tips from Gail

No-one likes to pay their taxes; however it is so much easier to do it the right way from the beginning to avoid issues long term. To set up your business, processes and systems in the beginning the right way is key. Bookkeeping is a process and doing it well assists in so many other areas of the business, like forecasting, budgeting, and other management tools.

Having worked with Carbon during the transition after her business partnered with Carbon Group, Gail had firsthand knowledge about the business and the people she would be partnering with. Get to know Gail

Gail was born in Zimbabwe, Africa. You can take the girl out of Africa however Africa will always be in the girl’s soul! She has lived on four continents, however, lived on the same street for 22 years before heading to Brisbane to kickstart our Queensland presence. Being passionate about assisting others to empower themselves, Gail is also a coach and mentor and facilitates workshops for women in various areas of leadership and entrepreneurship.
