Carbon Group merges with Melbourne-based Books in Shape

There’s no stopping us! It’s our pleasure to announce our fourth merger this year as our existing Melbourne Carbonites welcome the team at Books in Shape.

Books in Shape are a vibrant team of accountants and bookkeepers who have been servicing small to medium business owners across Melbourne since 2011. Keith Berry, Managing Director, shares our passion for cloud-based accounting software Xero, proving to be a perfect fit for our tech-savvy culture.

“We’ve experienced substantial growth recently and identified that we needed to expand our team to keep up with demand. We are extremely excited to be working with the Carbon team here in Melbourne and continue to grow the business together.” Said Berry.

Keith and the team will be joining our existing Melbourne team with a mission to be the biggest (and best!) bookkeeping firm on the east coast.

Allison Gardiner, Partner, joined Carbon after merging her business BAS Attack in November 2017. She leads Carbon’s Melbourne team and will be working closely with Keith to ensure a smooth integration of Books in Shape’s clients and our new Carbonites.

“Melbourne is Australia’s fastest growing city and is about to hit the five million mark. If its current growth rate continues, Melbourne will soon outgrow Sydney in terms of population. This provides a huge opportunity for Carbon to build its presence as a preferred service provider to the small business community. It’s a very exciting time for us here at Carbon.” Gardiner said.

Books in Shapes marks our 13th M&A to date. We have recently merged with Perth-based Swan Valley Tax and Accounting. Our vision is to have at least one hub in each state across Australia and we’re well on our way! Read more about Carbon’s journey since launching in 2014.
