Why Google Reviews?
64% of all searches worldwide are all done on Google, and that includes looking for businesses like yours around the local scene. Whenever these potential customers would use this search engine, reviews and star ratings are also included in the search result. While Google also includes reviews from other review sites like Yelp, the change in algorithm has made it so that users will be able to see Google reviews before any other third party review site. Having several reviews and star ratings from your customers also tells Google that your business is popular and active – which they reward with better search rankings. How Do I Start?

• Claim your Google MyBusiness profile – If you have not yet created a listing on Google My Business yet and have been running shop for a while, Google might have already created a listing for you. If this is the case, then you would need to claim this listing and check if the information stored on your listing is accurate.
• Optimize your Google MyBusiness profile – Try to maximise your Google listing as much as possible. This means filling out all the fields, uploading business images, hours of operation, services, etc.
•Verify your business location with Google – Once you sign up for a Google My Business profile, Google will send you a verification code that you will need to type into your business listing. This is for verifying that your business address does exist and is accurate.
Always encourage your customers to leave reviews about the service or product you have offered. You could set up monthly challenges within your team to see who can get the most reviews posted. Make it a habit to reply to customer reviews whether they are positive or negative, and leave one for your client in return if they have a business. In the end, it’s all up to you how you can encourage people to write reviews for your business and help make it rise in the cutthroat digital world of search engine marketing.
