Jamie Davison CPA
Jamie is a CPA with a swag of university degrees and broad experience across chartered and corporate accounting. Jamie has more drive than a Nullarbor road train, and before Carbon he built a one-man, home business into a thriving organisation with more than twenty staff in just over two years. When he’s not building empires, which is his favourite past time, Jamie enjoys travelling, Texas Hold’em and Crossfit, in that order.
Cheryl previously owned WiseClick, before merging with Carbon to form Carbon Balcatta. She has a bunch of qualifications, including a Cert IV in Mortgage Broking, Bookkeeping and Workplace Training and Assessment, and certifications in Xero, MYOB, Calxa and Workflow Max. When she’s not in the office, you’ll find Cheryl out on the water. She spent six years working on prawn and fish trawlers up north. The long hours and heavy work was made worthwhile with the beautiful ocean views, white sandy beaches and endless supply of fresh seafood. She even raised her son on the boat for the first 12 months of his life!
With a Master’s degree in Professional Accounting Sinead is perfectly placed to assist Carbon’s more established bookkeeping clients. She cites communication and efficiency as the key to keeping everyone happy. As you might suspect from the name, Sinead hails from the Emerald Isle and represented Ireland in Under 21s hockey and WA in the Over 35s. Yep, she came out of retirement after having a little thing we all call ‘Life’.
Originally from South Africa, Madelein has a BA law degree and 10 years of work experience as a state prosecutor. She uprooted and moved to Australia in 2008 and now calls Perth her home. Madelein had a complete career change, and studied in Australia to gain her Cert IV Financial Services, later achieving her MYOB and Xero certification. Her hobbies include a glass (or two) of wine with friends, and speeding on her jet ski (not at the same time of course!).
Natalie has been with the company since 2012. Originally from South Africa, Natalie worked for 10 years doing the bookkeeping for her husband’s business. Since moving to Australia, she continued with her bookkeeping and joined the WiseClick team. She has her Cert IV in Bookkeeping and is currently studying for her Cert IV in Accounting. Natalie has a passion for photography and spends her spare time snapping away.
Aimie Wilson CA
Originally from the East Coast, Aimie moved over to Perth after she’d heard great things about Carbon and wanted to join the team. It probably helped that Perth has great beaches, although we won’t admit that. Aimie is Carbon Bookkeeping’s Practice Manager, and has plenty of experience in accounting roles over in Brisbane. Aimie is a CA with a Bachelor of Business majoring in Accounting, and also has a Cert IV in Massage Therapy, as well Certs II and III in Floristry. She’s pretty blooming brilliant really!
Kathleen Piachaud CPA
Kat joined Carbon as a bookkeeping manager after six years in the industry. Starting as an internal auditor travelling around WA auditing state government agencies, before moving into the accounting and tax sector in business services. Kat loves learning, and has a Bachelor of Commerce from Curtin Uni, she’s a CPA, and also has her Cert 3 in both interior design and fitness. Kat is a big foodie, so on the weekends you’ll usually find her sussing our breaky locations around Perth. She loves everything property and isn’t afraid to get the hammer and chisel out to add some value to a property!
Laura Windus CA
By all reports, Laura is a lifesaver and a valued member of the team. She somehow juggles work and family and is a pro at both. She leads a very active lifestyle and enjoys outdoor activities with her 2 young children. A big sports fan, Eagles supporter specifically which causes a bit of tension in the bookkeeping department. Laura Graduated from Curtin in 2010, with Bachelor of Commerce (with Distinction) and has been working since then to develop the valuable skill set she birngs to the Carbon team.
Sally is known as the Holiday Queen. With her Xero-Certification, she is also known as the quiet achiever, this is only quiet as a result of being a skilled power house work horse. Her speed and efficiency would be admired in any industry so we’re glad she’s one of ours. It’s assumed her strength comes from being a Dockers supporter with her partner being a West Coast fan.
Lisa has a wealth of experience in accounts roles, entering the industry straight from school. Her clients thought it was hilarious when she got married and her surname became Cash; very appropriate for a bookkeeper! Lisa enjoys travelling, and spent three years touring round London and Europe in her 20s. Lisa has her Cert IV in Bookkeeping and is Xero certified.
We rescued Nick from Tax accounting and brought him onto the Bookkeeping team. After doing an Accounting & Finance Double Major he's amazing for his young age. He's a bit of a rev head in his love of cars and goes equally hard at gaming. An advocate of the PC Masterrace which means he spends his weekends picking on peoples grammar in internet arguments about my little pony.
Tina forms part of the bookkeeping team at Carbon Balcatta. She has a wealth of knowledge in the industry; she worked in accounts and payroll for eight years before leaving to have children. Tina studied for her Cert IV in Bookkeeping whilst looking after her toddlers, then started work as a bookkeeper. She hopes to start yoga one day when she has more time for herself, but for now, she’s just bending over backwards for her children!
Ariana joined the Carbon team as our payroll superstar. Originally from New Zealand, she previously worked in hotels in a variety of roles including management and HR. She’s been in Perth a couple of years, and gained experience in payroll and administration. Ariana loves the outdoors, and recently travelled through Vietnam before coming to Carbon.
Ainslie joined the bookkeeping team at Carbon Balcatta after completing her Cert IV in Financial Services at WiseClick Training. She’s responsible for the setup, training and troubleshooting within the bookkeeping department. Ainslie ran the financial side of her husband’s business whilst bringing up their two sons. Outside of work, Ainslie enjoys cooking, the beach and running. She’s even run a marathon!
Tarryn was managing two Caltex service stations for her Mum, and studying at WiseClick for Cert IV Bookkeeping. Her bubbly personality makes her an ideal trainer, and so she completed her Cert IV in Training and Assessment. With a lovely voice and manner, the students send in rave reviews on Tarryn’s teaching abilities. Moving into the full time training coordinator position soon means that she uses her administrative and training abilities to the fullest. When she gets some spare time you will find her with family at the speedway or baking up a storm at home.
Coming from icy Ballarat to Perth 10 years ago to start a new business venture (that’s another fun story you can ask her about!) Kerry has been working with Cheryl Knight and the team at WiseClick Training Balcatta as the Training Coordinator since 2009. With a Diploma of Accounting and experience in administration, customer service, sales and human resource roles Kerry has moved to the “back office” as a part timer to concentrate on the compliance areas of the training section. This move to part time will give Kerry more time to travel and just chill out with her family.
Bridie has the perfect surname for her position helping our team with administration and accounting projects. Bridie loves the beach, sports and keeping fit. Bridie has been blessed with the ability to play two recorders at once, one in each nostril. Woah!
Karen is the chief organiser in the Balcatta office. She oversees the team of bookkeepers, providing support for legislative and accounting queries, broadening scope for the bookkeepers with clients and generally keeping everything running seamlessly. She has her Cert IV in Financial Services and Bookkeeping. Karen has played squash since her 20s and also loves walking in the outdoors. She loves to travel and wishes she had more time to tick off her list of countries to visit.
